A fox needs to eat - 29 palms edition.

Ok, a fox needs to snack. Here is my list of my favorite Joshua Tree places.  Amazing chicken at Fans Sportsbar (and cheap drinks).

If you are looking to get some exercise and have delicious nachos you have to check out the Bowladium in 29 palms.
Locally owner and operated (and made locally too) at the Coyote Cone.

If you are ever in Indio California and hungry (or not hungry) but you have to get a date shake at the Shields Date Farm.  The shake is the best date shake around - trust me.

They also have a display garden at Shields - but the shakes are not to be missed.

Finally, a beer or two.  I dragged the humans to the 29 palms beer company a couple of times.  The porter was fabulous.
This beer is amazing - it's the Delly Jonut. A raspberry infused beer - so great.

Staycation with Grinnell

 Hiya Gang,

Little Fox here.  My pal Grinnell and I have decided to take a much needed daycation.

Today, we are heading to a little taco shop for three tacos.  We got fish tacos, barbacoa (beef) and carnitas (pork).

Due to Covid we had to eat in the car (indoor dining is not allowed).  You can see it's raining cats and foxes today so we don't mind eating indoors.  The hardest part is splitting the tacos evenly.  Why didn't we just get 6?

This taco restaurant is pretty good and in fact in 2008 presidential nominee Barack Obama had lunch here.

Three tacos between two stuffies isn't enough food.  We decided to get some cinamon rolls at a local store.  We haven't had anything from this brand before but with a bear on the cover what can go wrong?
Apparently the Bimbo Bakery is dominating the packaged pastry business at this store.
Where to next?

We need a professional taster.

Drunk Fox and I were having a heated discussion about which team is going to win the World Series.  I, Big Bear, am hoping for the Cubs to win while Drunk Fox is hoping for the Indians.  We kept arguing and bickering back and forth and we decided to focus our energy on planning something for Little Fox's return to Oregon.
Little Bear heard about our conversation and wanted to get in on it.
Drunk Fox suggested Honey Roasted Peanuts. As Drunk Fox recalls, Jerry seemed to like these peanuts when he and Ben visited Sandy last summer.  If they are good enough for Jerry then they are good enough for Little Fox.
Little Bear and Big bear agree but think Little Fox might like cookies instead.
Those cookies look good. I still think he would like peanuts.  Big and Little Bear suggested cookies.  Argh.
Reindeer heard the gang arguing and had to pop in and give his two cents.  Reindeer, being healthy and a vegetarian agrees with Drunk Fox in giving Little Fox peanuts.  Oh no, it's a tie.  What are we going to do?  Little Bear and Drunk Fox both realized at the same time that one of their blog pals, Jerry might be able to help out.
Do you think Jerry would help us out?  Should we mail him a package and he can taste test the cookies and the peanuts?  Should we send some extra food for Ben?  Arg, so many questions.
Let's do it guys!  Let's send this package to Jerry for his idea on which food to serve.  I think we best get this package out in the mail.  Thanks Jerry - we are patiently awaiting your feedback.
