A surprise for Grinnel.

Hiya Gang,
Little Fox here.  I am hanging out with the rabbits today as they try to curb their boredom.  They decided to make some homemade blueberry muffins.  As you can see one of the muffins is gone (better talk to Drunk Fox) but the leader of our rabbits (Grey Rabbit) is ready to dish up some muffins.
It's been a busy day.  Some of the other stuffies and I are deciding on what to do next.  Should we watch a movie?  Go to the park? Cook a fancy dinner?  The Easter Bunny is here, Wolfy, Grinnel, and Hedgehog (who is going through an identity crisis by thinking he is the Easter Bunny) and I were still deciding when a package arrived for Grinnel.
Grinnel is very excited but he's wondering who this package is from.  Grinnel doesn't get a lot of mail (or any mail for that matter) so this is exciting.
Little Fox, Easter Bunny and I noticed the package was from Sandy.
What could it be?   Of course I could read the customs declaration but let's open this up.
Looks like we will need scissors.
Wolfy is on it.
Side note:  There was a lot of tape in this package.  Sandy packaged this well for travel to the US.  We had a hard time opening the box but us stuffies are a persistent bunch and conquered.

Grinnel looks super excited about his card.  It mentioned that he did a great job in the Art Deco contest and that he won the prize.
Little Bear decided to join the group. You can see he has his winter jacket on.  It's almost April, time to change your wardrobe Little Bear.
Let's check out these snacks.    First, there is a candy bar called "Eat More".  It's a Canadian Bar (according to Wikipedia) and it's very popular in Canada.  Interestingly, a candy bar called "Eat More" sounds like something that should come the USA. It does have toffee, peanuts and chocolate (yum).
Next up is the famed All Dressed Chips.  These are hard to get in the USA as they only produce them once in a while.  In the USA they are labeled as "Canada's Favorite Flavor" and whenever the roommates go to Canada they always get them.  According to Wikipedia they were developed in Quebec in 1978 and were a hit from the beginning.  There is another company that makes a similar chip called "The Whole Shabang" but it's only made for the prison market.
One prisoner described them this way: “The Whole Shabangs are a ray of sunlight in the very cloudy and drab existence that is prison,”

Other items in the gift bag are "Cheezies" made with Real Canadian Cheddar.  They are described as corn snacks but Grinnel doesn't mind because he loves Cheetos. Wikipedia says that these chips were developed by accident, well whatever the case it they look really good.

Wolfy is holding a Coffee Crisp bar.   Coffee Crisp is a Canadian Candy Bar that is only sold in Canada and Australia.  There was an online petition to sell Coffee Crisp in the and it was  briefly sold it in the US but discontinued it in 2009.  Wikipedia states that "Canadian expatriates have long lamented the bar's relative unavailability outside Canada."  After tasting it, us stuffies can see why Canadian expats want it sold everywhere.

Thank you Sandy for the awesome gift box and thank you Canadian and US post office for getting it here in record time (8 days).

Little Fox earns a day trip as a reward for his supervision skills

Greetings Blog Pals,
Little Fox here.  As you may remember I worked hard last week building some Ikea furniture.  As a reward for my supervision skills my roommates took me on a daytrip that included a nice scavenger hunt.

My adventure takes me to the Hotel Oregon in Downtown McMinnville Oregon.  As I enter the lobby I noticed this cool art deco light.  I might have keep this picture in my file archives if Sandy has another art deco contest.  This lamp came from an old church in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Here is my clue. I need to find Ruby tiptoeing south for the winter.  Ruby is one of beers that Mcmenamins brews across the Northwest (in fact they have been doing it since 1986).  It's made from raspberries and other things that go into beer (hops, yeast etc) and it's really good.
Off to look at some art.  This picture caught my eye.  The rabbit in the far right looks really scared (probably because his pal is being abducted by a UFO).
Onward.  I know this picture doesn't match the hunt but the squirrel wearing a hard hat mining nuts is pretty darn cool.
On my adventure I made it to the rooftop bar.  Some rain today but looking westward the weather seems okay.   Ruby is not hanging out up here.  Time to move on.

Onward....
This bear is really protecting his grub.
The Hotel Oregon originally opened as the Hotel Elberton (1905) and the Elberton Grill opened in 1920.  Why is there a picture of a bear for the hotel?  Probably because bears are cool.

Hmm, this person seems to be tiptoeing.  Could it be Ruby?
Yes, it is.  Yipee! Ruby sure seems to be tiptoeing and I made my roommates check the compass on their phones and she is facing south.
Time to celebrate my success.  Follow me gang back to that rooftop bar.
Nope, no Ruby ale for me, instead I got the "Terminator Stout".  Terminator has been around since 1985.

Little Fox bygger Ikea-möbler med sina kamrater.

Little Fox here.  I noticed some large boxes arrived a few days ago.  My roommates made a bet with me a pizza that I could not get the items in these boxes assembled in a month.  Challenge accepted!

Let me take a closer look.

Hmm, something written in Swedish.  Let me do some free association:  Furniture, assembly, Swedish……..of course my roommates went to IKEA.  Looks like I have been tricked into assembling the furniture.

I better assemble my furniture assembly team.
We are a motley crew but we work well together.  Let's go.
Lot's of languages represented.  This is the "warnings" page.  What have we gotten ourselves into?
The instructions could use a few improvements like words to help us stuffies out.  Luckily, us stuffies are resilient animals ready for any task.  We'll get it done!
My team says that wine always helps with furniture assembly.

Sequoia has joined us to help out.
Voila! My team has succeeded.
I believe that us stuffies and Sequoia won the bet and we get a pizza.

What is this?  Roadrunner Pizza?  Really?
Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa Johns, the world has heard of those places but Roadrunner Pizza?  Really humans?  Really?

Guess who just got a serious demerit on their evaluation?

The Circle of Stuffies

Today is the day.  Drunk Fox's intervention begins now!!!!
Before the intervention started I googled how to hold an intervention.  Lots of information was posted online but there was really no information on how to hold a stuffed animal intervention so I guess I am going to wing it.
I decided to call all of the animals together and get this intervention started.  The animals started to arrive in small groups.  Wolfy, Fox, and this dapper little mouse from Prague arrived first.
One of our Christmas stuffies decided to join the intervention.  Of course Baxer is here.  Little Bear and Big Bear have arrived as well.  Sequoia is wondering what is happening but he's not 100% sure he's ready to join.
Fox, Odie, our resident hedgehog (who thinks he is a bunny), Lightning,  and Reindeer have arrived.
I better lay down some ground rules:
1) Only one stuffy should talk at a time.
2) Raise your paw to speak.
3) Everyone silence their phones.
4) There will be snacks only if the intervention is successful.  REPEAT, the snacks will only come out IF the intervention is a success.
I had to convince Drunk Fox that he needed to get off the couch.  Apparently, he has lots of reading on his pallet.  Tough, we're doing this intervention today.
Little Fox: All right here he comes....places everyone.
Drunk Fox: What is going on Kermit?
Drunk Fox:  Hmm, I am a little worried.
Kermit:  Drunk Fox, don't worry, I got your back.
Drunk Fox:  All right, let's get this party started.
Drunk Fox:  Reindeer wanted to talk to me about my graffiti problem.  I tried to tell him that I wasn't seeking attention and that I wasn't reliving repressed childhood memories, or that I wasn't trying to make a political statement.
Drunk Fox:   I was just bored.  You see gang, my hobby used to be drinking and now that I have been sober I am bored and looking for a new hobby.  I though graffiti art could be a good hobby for me.
Little Fox: I wonder if this intervention is working....
Little Fox: This intervention is taking a long time.  Kermit is exhausted and Sequoia has decided to leave.
Little Fox:  I am declaring this intervention moderately successful.  Are there any questions?
Wolfy: So.....now that the intervention is over does that mean we get snacks?
Little Fox: I guess my next job is to help you find a new hobby for you Drunk Fox.  Do you like hiking?
Drunk Fox: Not really, any other ideas Little Fox?

Little Fox: I am tapped out, perhaps my stuffy friends can help out.  Stuffy pals feel free to leave any tips on a new hobby for Drunk Fox in the comments.

Oh no, looks like we need to intervene with Sequoia too.

Snow Break...

Baxter and I decided to take a little break from trying to figure out what is going on with Drunk Fox (and all of the Corona Virus news****).    A few days ago a card came addressed to me from my pal Droopy.

Team Droopy always gets bonus points for the handmade card.
The crew is wishing me a happy St. Patrick's Day.  They suggest I celebrate with a big pot of chicken stew.  That's an excellent idea.
Chicken stew always seems to go well on cold winter days.  As I started my morning chore of letting Sequoia outside I was pleasantly surprised to see snow.
No, this is not a post-dated blog, it really did snow last night.  I hope my blueberry plants survive.
The trees look so nice with the snow.
I wonder if the snow will stay?  If it stays cold enough do you think I could host Karl and Bullwinkle?

Let me check the forecast.  Hmm, looks like the weather is supposed to improve, out of politeness to Karl and Bullwinkle we better postpone a visit this year.
**** On a side note be sure you wash you paws and stay healthy stuffy friends.
