Snow-mageddon

Hiya blog world, Hope everyone is staying warm.  Reindeer Coyote here, just checking in on the hummingbird feeders.   We are in for a cold snap (high of 18 today, high of 28 tomorrow).  Snow and Ice as well.

Anyway, I need to make sure the feeders stay liquid so the birds can make it through the weather.  Right now, it looks ok.

A light dusting of snow to start the morning off.  Navy and Cocoa are seasoned travelers and have lived up north for many years so this is nothing for them.
A few hours later and we have snow + ice.  Winds are going nuts, almost lost power....whew safe for now.

Our mice are super smart, they are telling me to get them inside stat.

Once inside it was time for some hot chocolate.  Everyone had a good laugh at the outrageousness of diet hot chocolate.  Little Fox, always the prankster.

Time to open the good stuff up. Artisan hot chocolate with a hint of spice.
Editors note: Jerry and Ben please keep your blizzardy weather in your home state.
Thank you - LF and Crew

Mail from Droopy!

 Hi Blog World,
Little Fox here.  Got an awesome card from my pal Droopy today.  He's vacationing in Hawaii and having a blast.

Droopy is one smart dog.  This morning woke up to a light snow on the ground.  Very rare for my city (and this time of the year).
Enjoy your trip Droopy and Co.  Safe Travels.

Time for some hot chocolate.  Note: J and B please stop sending snow our way....

Snow Break...

Baxter and I decided to take a little break from trying to figure out what is going on with Drunk Fox (and all of the Corona Virus news****).    A few days ago a card came addressed to me from my pal Droopy.

Team Droopy always gets bonus points for the handmade card.
The crew is wishing me a happy St. Patrick's Day.  They suggest I celebrate with a big pot of chicken stew.  That's an excellent idea.
Chicken stew always seems to go well on cold winter days.  As I started my morning chore of letting Sequoia outside I was pleasantly surprised to see snow.
No, this is not a post-dated blog, it really did snow last night.  I hope my blueberry plants survive.
The trees look so nice with the snow.
I wonder if the snow will stay?  If it stays cold enough do you think I could host Karl and Bullwinkle?

Let me check the forecast.  Hmm, looks like the weather is supposed to improve, out of politeness to Karl and Bullwinkle we better postpone a visit this year.
**** On a side note be sure you wash you paws and stay healthy stuffy friends.

A winter adventure

Brrr, today's weather is in the low 30s and it's cold for a little fox.......Now.......I know it's not as cold as Jerry and Ben's winter home (9 degrees F in their winter town) but it's cold for me.  Last night it started snowing and it didn't stop till this morning.  The backyard got some snow, let's see what the rest of the area looks like.  Time for an adventure.
Now, I am a fox on an exploration.  The streets look OK.
Proof that we got a lot of snow last night.  My roommate stuck a ruler in the snow and it was 7 inches!
Yes, lots of snow but not too much snow to climb this tree.  I should have brought my scarf.
Even though the snow is out it looks like this tree has a berry on it. I wonder how tasty a berry in January tastes?
My destination was the park.  There were lots of trees down and the park looked really cool.

One last stop on my way home.
One of my winter friend, Penguin, wanted to go outside.  Penguin is certainly dressed for the weather.
Any good adventure needs to conclude with snacks.  Let's see, I have a steaming cup of coffee, a couple of cookies and a nice brownie.  Yes, this should suffice.

Snow

Looks like we are in for a blizzard.  They are forecasting 1 to 2 inches - good thing I am safe at home.  Now, where is the hot chocolate?????

Snow Mystery

I can't believe it Reindeer, look it snowed today!  Do you want to go out and explore?

Reindeer is certainly dressed for the occasion but after years of living in our moderate climate he has lost his desire to deal with any temperature under 35 degrees.  Looks like I might be the only one exploring today.
Looks like someone (or something) has gone outside to explore.  I wonder whose prints these might be?
Another set of prints.
Who (or what) could these prints belong to?  Maybe this is a case for Sherlock Sandy?  Nah, he probably doesn't do cases in the states (you know taxes and customs) looks like I am on this case myself.  Blog pals, any ideas whose prints these could be?

Mysterious Visitor

I woke up early today to see the fresh snow from last night.  My serene snow scene included tracks...I wonder if one of my friends is going to visit today?
Then I heard a knock on the door.  Who could it be?  It was my friend "Little Bear".  I showed him the blogs of my friends and he seems to think there is a resemblance between him,  Jerry, Ben and Sandy....after further inspection I think I see it too. Either way I brewed up some hot chocolate so he could warm up even though he is dressed for the weather today.

We chatted for a while and then it started to snow again.  Use West Coast animals don't really do snow very well, but my roommates walked to to the store to pick up some more hot chocolate and marshmallows for Little Bear and I .

Snow!

We have had such a mild Winter that I was starting to think about what vegetables to plant in my garden this Spring.  Wait, what is this?  Is it snow?  Yipee it's snowing!

I think we have about 2 inches outside already and the forecaster said it's going to snow all night long.  I know for some of my blog pals this isn't much snow but for where I live it's a blizzard.  Will my roommates school be cancelled tomorrow?  Will he take me adventuring in the snow?  Can anyone see me, Little Fox, in this picture?

In search of snow....

It's been a quiet Winter so far in my neck of the woods (sorry Jerry and Ben I bet it's really cold out in your area).  Ajdin, is your area affected by the large snowstorm the news keeps talking about?  If anyone needs extra hot chocolate let me know, I will break into the emergency stockpile.

I thought I better be more pro-active in my snow adventures this year so my roommates and I took a trip out Central Oregon to find some snow.  Look, I see snow, it seems far away but I bet I can hike there.
I wanted a better view (and picture), so why not climb this tree.  It was worth it, although my roommate says I look like I have altitude sickness and can't sit up straight.  I think I look very relaxed myself.
I like this picture below, it's my first attempt at a self portrait, I think I  look very dashing.  My roommates just rolled their eyes.
Snow!  Lots and lots of it.  Now, if I can only find another stuffie to have a snowball fight with.
Time to relax at home.  Hmm, what is the dark red drink, is it wine?  Yes, I am sure my roommates won't mind if I have a sip or two or three.  They are too busy watching the fire and football game.

It's the next morning, I wonder if I sit and stare out the window if my roommates will get a move on it to the next hike?
It worked (I will have to remember that trick in the future).  We are off to a park near the river, not as much snow on the ground but lots of ice on the river.

I think I made the smart move and slept the rest of the way home after consuming lots of hot tea with honey (trying to branch out from Hot Chocolate).  I think you bears are onto something with this honey you like soooo much.  To my pals back East and in the Midwest, stay warm!
