Drunk Fox's Birthday

Can you believe it, another year has passed by. Drunk Fox's birthday is coming up and I want to make sure I get him a good gift.  Obviously, a trip to the Liquor store is out of the question.  What do you buy the fox that has everything?  Chicken of course.
I should probably enlist Reindeer as a helper in the kitchen as he is one who can do the heavy lifting.
After giving the chicken a good rinse it's time to season the bird.  Since I am making Greek chicken probably should use some oregano.  Do you think there is enough Oregano in this jar?
Salt and pepper are always good spices to have on hand.
Reindeer suggested that garlic and lemon would go well together.
Fox can't live on chicken alone and Reindeer suggested quartering up some potatoes and putting them in the bottom of the roaster as the chicken cooks. Good idea Reindeer.
While the chicken is cooking it's best to have a snack.   Has anyone ever had this brand of granola from Trader Joe's? It's pecan maple granola and the granola is addictive.
The chicken came out great.  It was very tasty and Drunk Fox really enjoyed it.  Reindeer's vegetables were tasty as well.  Now, you are probably thinking "Where is the picture of the finished chicken Little Fox?" well I got a later start and it wasn't done till everyone was really hungry and we decided to scarf it down instead of posing patiently for the blog.  The chicken won out this time.

Happy Birthday Drunk Fox.

A beary special treat

After our hike my roommates informed me we would not be staying at a ranch.  Phoeey.  Also, we were not staying at a five or even four star hotel.  Rats, this isn't fairing well for me.  We ended up at a nice little house.  Sequoia and I went our separate ways to explore and I found the stuffy ambassador for the house.
I met this nice bear and apparently he said he was going to be my guide this weekend.  He was a pretty old bear but could sure get around the house.  We followed Sequoia to the kitchen.  I decided to look around and see what beverages were available for me.
\
Hmm, do any of my stuffy friends have a guess what might be in this container?
Yep, it's hot chocolate!  Yipee, this is turning out beary well for me (and there is a bear on the tin to boot).
Sequoia kept barking and barking which is unusual since he doesn't bark much.  The bear went back to the room to relax so I decided to follow Sequoia outside.
Oh my, do you see that?  Chickens, fresh yummy chickens just wandering around waiting for me.  I can't believe how cool this place is.  Let's review: Bear tour guide, hot chocolate ready to go and fresh chicken!!!!!!!!!!!!
More chickens.  I can't believe how lucky I am.
The owners of the house are really nice.  I am almost having second thoughts of trying to get into the chicken coop....almost having second thoughts.......Let's see, this latch looks hard to open. I better get a different view.
Man, this is hard.  I can't seem to get it open and I better hurry before Sequoia barks too much and my roommates come and find what I am up to.
I got through gate #1 but there was another fence.  Rats, foiled again.  This friendly chicken informed me, matter-of-factly that they were not for consumption.  It was at that time my roommates, Sequoia, and my bear tour guide came out to the chicken coop to "escort' me away from the coop - which is good because it might mean we are going to take a hike.

Early Birthday for Little Fox

Hello Blog Pals, this is Drunk Fox at the helm today.  My roommates gave me $5.00 for Little Fox's birthday gift.  I know exactly what to get him, a $5.00 gift card to Starbucks.  On the way to Starbucks I stopped by the grocery store and found an even better gift for him  (and I saved my roommates $.33 to boot).
How do you wrap a whole chicken?  Of course, it''s got to be a gift bag.
Now that the gift is wrapped I am going to give it to Little Fox early to really surprise him.

Little Fox seemed to have some trouble getting into the gift.  Luckily his friends were nearby to shout encouragement.

Little Fox can't stop gushing about how much he loves his gift, now it's time to start carving this chicken up.  Happy Birthday Little Fox.
