Welcome Spring

Hiya Gang,
LF here welcoming in Spring.  Today I am exploring the state capital, scouting some art deco shots for Sandy's next (hopefully) contest, and enjoying the nice Spring weather.  This is a cool parking garage, it's all underground and they made a state park is on t op of the garage.  Very cool..

At the state park they have all these interesting fun facts.  This one is my favorite.

This one is on "Oregon  Firsts" such as: producing state wide voter pamphlets, state wide voter registration, electing US senators by vote, declare sovereignty of ocean beaches, adopting a workers compensation law and ban aerosol sprays.

I could not have asked for a better day.
The capital is pretty impressive.  On top is "Oregon Pioneer".  He' was made in New Jersey, shipped across the panama canal and taken by train to Salem. Quite a journey.
I made it as close as I can today (construction).  Can't go inside today to explore but keeping paws crossed I can explore soon.
I can see the art deco influence but when I was reading online I also noticed people called it Soviet Era Construction, which I can see some of those influences as well.

Since it's so nice today might as well explore the riverside park.  A cool bridge over the river and lots of outdoor art.

Trees are blooming and the river is calm.

Time for this little fox to get lunch.

Spring is here and there is a bear in charge!

Uh, hello bloggers.  My name is Bear and I am filling in for Little Fox as he is off on a journey up North to Canada then to London courtesy of the famed adventurer Alexander McKenzie Bear.

As I mentioned my name is Bear and I was put in charge of the blog by my friend Little Fox.  I have a series of blogs I was am supposed to write and a requirement to go on many adventures with his roommates.  I think I can handle that.

So as you gathered from my post spring is here. Let's take a quick tour.
Looks like the tulip's LF's roomies planted in fall are taking shape.  I wonder what color they will be?

The winter garden did well. A couple types of lettuce, arugula, some small onions and cilantro.  Almost time to replant.
Onions did well too.

The grass is really green.

The fruit trees have lots of buds on them.  There is one cherry and two plum trees.  I heard there is a bear who is a chef in Minnesota who might have some ideas for plums.

Final stop is the garage.  LF wanted me to check in on the hard cider.  The bottle caps are holding up and the cider was ready to drink on April 1st (no joke).
In fact, I am making another batch so when LF comes back there will be some fresh cider for him.

Bear in charge of blog signing off for now.

Hiking Season starts

Happy Spring!  As you can see I am waiting patiently for my roommates and my friend Sequoia to come hiking with me.
The trail is quiet for now. There were lots of people on the trail toward the end of my hike but for now I can think about all sorts of important things like snacks to take with me hiking.
Halfway up the trail I made it to the mansion. Sigh, no tours today but maybe in my future I will be able to take a behind the scenes tour.
We have had a ton of rain lately but the trail was in good shape despite what the sign said.
Hmm, are these the snowdrops Sandy is always talking about?
Sequoia is keeping an eye out for traffic (he's ever vigilant).
Not bad weather for a day where there was an 80% chance of rain.  The city from up here looks beary peaceful.
I am excited to welcome spring.  Now I might have to get back home and start working in the garden.

Little Fox Welcomes Spring

Welcome Spring!

Can anyone guess what kind of tree this is?

The most recent rain and windstorms blew most of the flowers off of the almond tree.  Phooey.

Happy Spring everyone.  Jerry, I hope your Spring starts soon.

Spring ???

I woke up this morning hopeful for an adventure.  Nothing too exciting yet but it looks like Spring is officially here.  This is our almond tree blooming nicely.  I hope Spring comes soon for all of my blog pals.
Speaking of nice, thanks to Jerry and Ben for the awesome starbucks card.  I love the fox.  I tried to get my roommates to take me there today to load the card but they denied my constant requests.

Thanks Jerry and Ben

Spring???????????????

A nice “spring” day.   What?  Spring you say?  How can that be?  I am no fox-meteorologist but I know good weather when I see it and we are off to explore.

This flowering tree is doing well, I wonder if it’s a rhododendron? I like this old house near the tree as well.  Perhaps they give behind the scene tours?

Look what store is across the street.  Can we stop? Pleasssssssssseee……………?  I'll buy.........

This train was revving up and getting ready to depart.  It looks like it’s going north, I wonder if it’s going to Canada and if they will take me along to visit Sandy eh?  After visiting Sandy, maybe I can catch a train east to visit Jerry, Ben, and Ajdin.  I think Hammie is onto something when he mentioned the stuffy get-together….I am anxiously awaiting Jerry's response to that question.

Quick Adventure

Spring is here.  Yes, we had lots and lots of rain today but I think Spring has officially arrived.  What better way to enjoy the day then go for a walk.  This heather plant was so pretty, I begged my owners to take a few pictures of me (they settled for one picture, hmph).

Off on our adventure.  We went to the beach area.  If you look closely you can see a ferry in the background.  I wonder if there are any stuffies on that ferry?

I heard this strange loud barking sound.  We decided check it out and I think we saw a sea lion pup.  He was my kind of sea lion, just hanging out on a bench near the water.

He barked and barked, my roommates decided to continue on the hike.  We saw all sorts of boats; sailboats, motor boats, row boats and I begged my roommates to take me out on a ride.  Of course, they don't own a boat but they could have tried to talk to a boat captain and asked for a ride.

No luck, we just decided to sit and enjoy the Spring flowers.  Hmmm, I wonder if there is a Starbucks nearby?  I could send my roommates to pick up some huckleberry hot chocolate.
