Holiday Card Haul

 Hiya Blog World.
Little Fox here. I'm joined today by my pals Drunk Fox and Little Bear.

Today is a grand day to be a stuffy blogger, yep it's Holiday card season.

First up is a super awesome card from my pal Droopy and Crew.  Droopy cards are known all over the blog world since they are always handmade.  Droopy's human must be beary creative.  Thank you Droopy and Crew for the nice howliday wishes.

Next up is a Christmas card from two pawsome bears in the midwest.  I just looked at the weather where they live and it's not too cold today (high of 36).  A little two cold for my blood but these stuffies are troopers.  Of course they are fortified with hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and lots of hot dishes.
Jerry and Ben sent a nice card wishing me and my pals a Beary Christmas.  Thank you J and B.
Up next is a holiday card from up North.  Yep, my pals Sandy, Cocoa, and Navy Beanie sent a nice (double sided none-the-less) holiday card.  Sandy also sent a second card (Sandy only on this one).
Both cards are certainly appreciated.
Thank you blog pals for the awesome cards this year. Hope you all have a great holiday season.

Stuffy Olympics

 Greetings Blog World.

Little Fox here on this pleasant snow filled day at the mountain.  This year I am entering the Winter Stuffy Olympics in a very competitive category.

That's right....look out Ben....I am entering the "chilling" category this year.  Ben represents France very well as you can see from his Summer Olympic entry.
But this year Team USA is taking aim for the coveted "chilling" medal.

Here's my entry, not sure if it can win as I know Team France dominates in this category but only time will tell.
The camera crew for the Stuffy Olympics is amazing, another view of my Chillin entry.

Congratulations to all stuffy and non-stuffy athletes' this Winter Olympics.

Little Fox master gardener????

This is the year!  Yes, this is the year that I finally get my staff to control some of the weeds in the yard.

First up, you can see how they have repurposed some Amazon.com boxes as a weed barrier.  Now, I am just waiting on the tree mulch delivery.  The problem is that you never know when the tree clippings are coming, being that you have to wait for an arborist to have a load in your neighborhood that they want to drop off.  I have to be patient.

Pulling these weeds was yesterdays task.  There are still more to pull.

And more....you can see I am amassing quite the collection of weeds.  This little fox has been busy supervising the humans, how do Jerry and Ben do it? For that matter, how does Sandy get his people to do all this work?  My roommate is threatening a strike.
Strike breaker Sequoia has come out to refocus the roommate on their task at hand.
Time to start planing the garden.  First up are the free seeds from the colleges extension department.  Marigolds, more marigolds, snap peas and a 12 foot tall sunflower plant.
Zuchinni, snap peas, California Poppies, and a hummingbird mix.
Perhaps....um....I might have gone overboard with the seeds.
In my defense, the seeds were buy one get one at half price (and/or free) and this little fox can't pass up a bargain.

According to the internet the last frost is coming up, April 11th.   It's almost time to start planting.

Mail Call

 Hiya Gang,
Little Fox here.  I'm working through some recent mail.  First up.  A card from Jerry and Ben.

This is my favorite card from them.  So many hot dishes to make.  Let's see....where J and B live the official hotdish is green bean casserole.  My roommate visited a few areas of J and B's home state back in the day and the hotdish is saucy fish rice.  So many dishes to try.

Jerry also mentioned that a little bear is entitled to on hot fudge sundae per Covid Vaccine.  This is where everything gets tricky, if said little bear got the J &J vaccine which is a one shot deal does that mean said little bear only gets one sundae?

Next up is a card from a little bear up North.  Sandy's card came about a month and a half ago.  Yes, I know, I am a tad late on my mail.
Sandy mentions that he needs to get out on more adventures....amen brother I need to get out more too.

Sandy is prepping his garden (after cleaning out the raised beds).   Kale, snap peas, radishes are also on the plan.  I hope Sandy plants tomatoes as well.
My human got some free seeds today....marigolds, sunflower, snap peas and zucchini.  The were last years seeds but we are keeping paws crossed that they still work.  Of course, we purchased onions, zucchini, California Poppies, a plant that is supposed to attract honeybees, spinach, arugula, and more snap peas.

It seems as if Cocoa Beanie is struggling with the pandemic.  I hope he gets to visit Beanie soon and perhaps do a US trip.
Finally, Sandy mentioned that they made a pizza with basil, spinach, artichokes, and balsamic glaze.  Yum.  Recipe please.....

Thanks for the mail everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to my US based stuffies. I hope you are enjoying some turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie for dessert.  My roommates are in the kitchen working on my dinner and as I was digging around the kitchen looking for snacks I found some unopened mail.

The first card is from Sandy and Company up North.  Happy Thursday to my Canadian pal.  Sounds like Rose is going into High School at Grade 8.  In Oregon, high school starts at Grade 9.

Sandy's garden is going crazy.  Parsnips galore.  A few weeks ago the humans made baked apples, sausage, and parsnips.  A beary tasty dish from Jamie Oliver.

Looks like Sandy wrote a little more on the back.  Sandy has been doing some hiking and some exploring but is missing traveling and adventures.  They have been hunting for mushrooms and are having a hard time getting people to takethe chanterelles.  Send them down my way, we'll take them!!!

Speaking of mail.  Droopy and company sent an awesome homemade card.  Droopyscard.com needs to be registered online.  Droopy could sell these cards for sure.

Droopy was wondering if our town is allowing trick or treating.....well it's complicated.  The weather was really nice on Halloween and there were lots of people who put out bowls of candy on the driveway for kids to pick some up.

The pandemic hasn't slowed down Ajdin.  He recently took a sightseeing trip to Washington DC. He sent this awesome postcard from Washington DC with all the cherry trees in bloom.
Ajdin had a great question about my facemask.  Our governor has a mask mandate so I am a good Little Fox and wear my mask whenever I go out and about.
Do you recognize this drawing?

As you might remember I entered their Halloween Costume Contest and also their Halloween Treat Contest.  The Starbucks card is very appreciated and I am going to take them up on their suggestion to get some hot chocolate with the gift card.
Thanks J and B.

Thanks everyone for the great cards.  Sorry about the delay in posting.  I think I am going for the new stuffy record of posting late mail.  Ajdin still holds the record for the most belated postcard sending with his Utah Trip.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Mail Call

Big Bear, Drunk Fox, and I are enjoying a little comedy show provided by Kermit the Frog.  Kermit's been keeping a low profile at our place but he's addicted to the spotlight so we often get free comedy shows thrown by him.
Reindeer, our resident mail carrier, has a ton of mail that has been stockpiled up in his mailbox.

First up.  It's from Ajdin.  Who needs a return address when you have a stamp with your photo on it?
.
Ah yes.  It's an award for the Stuffie Talent Show.  I got third place.  Not a bad showing for this Little Fox.
In full disclosure, Kermit did help me with writing the jokes and working the audience.  This award belongs to both of us.
Next up:  A card from Bar.  Remember, Bar was helping out with Sandy's blog while Sandy was travelling this summer.
I bet there is a certain mouse who might recognize this postcard.  Actually, that is one of my favorite pictures from Beanie's human.  Thanks Bar.
Being that Reindeer spent some time at the North Pole and Drunk Fox and I came from Ikea we figured we were the best choice to present this next card from Ajdin.   Looks like Ajdin went to Iceland this summer.   Lucky bear.  I have heard Iceland is amazing.

Next up: Sandy, Jerry, and Ben sent a nice card (I always like Native American artwork).  They had a great time on vacation this year in Canada.  Exploring the beach, eating dinner at Grandma's and working hard in the kitchen.

Mail Call (round 2).

I interupt my Colorado posts to bring you some important mail/Christmas card information.

This is the best time of the year.  I get so much stuffie mail during December my sekrebeary really has to keep up with the blog.  It's good, keeps them on their toes and if they do well they may earn a Christmas bonus (key word...."may").

A few of my friends decided to hang out with me as I examined my mail.  On the right is my dear friend Hedgehog. Hedgehog likes to think he is the Easter Bunny (hence the ears).  I don't judge.  He's a loyal pal.  On the left if another fox that has joined my crew.  He won't tell me his name (I don't think he knows what it is either) but he's cool, friendly, and loves chicken.  Three things I look for in a pal.

Droopy and his pals sent me a card with a beary cute dog.  Thanks Droopy, Angus, Patch, Spunky and the Bark Knight (oh, wait perhaps I should have kept that last one to myself).  Thank you team Droopy.
Next up is a card from a pair of dessert loving bears in the Midwest.  Jerry and Ben sent a beary nice card.  It's got two bears (just like J and B) carrying a tree.  I hope Jerry and Ben have lots of hot chocolate in the pantry as I looked at the weather for their winter home and it's going to be cold for the next couple days.  Thank you team Jerry and Ben.
Until next time....LF.

Mail from Jerry and Ben.

Happy Sunday.

Lightning, Big Bear and Odie and I were just hanging out this Sunday afternoon.  I was telling them about my winning photo for Jerry and Ben's Halloween contest while they listened intently.

As the Odie and  I are talking my roommates bring a letter to me.   Odie was intrigued since the letter was already opened.
Odie thinks that there must be something up with this opened letter that is arriving on a day that no mail is delivered, but we are going to have to live with the mystery as Sherlock Sandy is already working on something for the ministry of puzzles

Let's see what this card is all about.  Oh.  A card from Minnesota eh.    It's from Jerry and Ben.  They congratulated me on my entry to the Halloween contest and awarded me with my own Starbucks card!  Thanks guys.

Now that there has been a new category involved in the contest, blatant bribing of the judges, I need to consult some cookbooks to see what kind of treat I can make next year to send to Jerry and Ben along with my entry.    This dessert looks perfect and it serves two!

Thanks Jerry and Ben for another great contest this year!

Bear in charge blog 2.

Hey Blog World,
It's the bear in charge here.  I was told to take LF's roommates on a trip to the beach today because the weather is supposed to be above 60 degree.

Rockaway Beach is a quiet beach town.  Yes, it has the requisite ice cream shops, kite shops, and random stuff (including a shop advertising the best Indian Food on the Oregon Coast) but shopping is not in the cards for me, I am off on a hike.

Sequoia  decided to attend the trip with us.  I am more of a backpack traveling bear while Sequoia likes to run around like a crazy dog on the beach.  He LOVES the beach.

Off in the distance are the mountains of the coast range.  Angora peak, Neahkahnie
Mountain and many unnamed hills.  Neahkahnie Mountain is supposedly where the first European explorers arrived while exploring this part of the word in 1693 (a Spanish boat shipwrecked on the spit near the mountain).  Of course the Tillamook and Clatsop Indians have been trading with each other via the  dangerous trails that  cross Neahkahnie  mountain long before the first Europeans arrived.

From my understanding every stuffy has their hobby.  From reading LF's notes LF's hobby is hiking and archaeology.  Jerry's is eating snacks and gardening.  Ben's is cooking.  Sandy's is exploring, Droopy's is a bacon conesour, Beanie is an artist and adventurer, and Ajdin is professional tour guide and has a drivers license.    So......readers.....you are probably wondering what my passion is.

I have two favorite activities.
1) Eating lunch.  I love lunch, not dinner, not breakfast not snacks just  lunch.  Speaking of lunch, it's lunch time now.  First I have a nice sandwich.  Yum.
Rice crackers.  Now how do I switch orientation on my pictures?
Honeycrisp apples. The little piece of honeycrisp apple covered in sand on the dog's waterbottle was for Sequoia.  He decided to spit it out.  Crazy huh?
Hard to see but it's string cheese.
Not a bad lunch but I think I should start coaching LF's roommates on how to make a better lunch.  For example, I could add seafood, fresh baked cookies, brownies, and Pirogis (A favorite of this bear).

My other passion is that I am a certified ice cream connoisseur (yes, they actually have this).

Hopefully, I can convince LF's roommates to stop at one or two of these local shops so I can test out the ice cream.  Paws crossed.

Bear in charge signing off.

Spring is here and there is a bear in charge!

Uh, hello bloggers.  My name is Bear and I am filling in for Little Fox as he is off on a journey up North to Canada then to London courtesy of the famed adventurer Alexander McKenzie Bear.

As I mentioned my name is Bear and I was put in charge of the blog by my friend Little Fox.  I have a series of blogs I was am supposed to write and a requirement to go on many adventures with his roommates.  I think I can handle that.

So as you gathered from my post spring is here. Let's take a quick tour.
Looks like the tulip's LF's roomies planted in fall are taking shape.  I wonder what color they will be?

The winter garden did well. A couple types of lettuce, arugula, some small onions and cilantro.  Almost time to replant.
Onions did well too.

The grass is really green.

The fruit trees have lots of buds on them.  There is one cherry and two plum trees.  I heard there is a bear who is a chef in Minnesota who might have some ideas for plums.

Final stop is the garage.  LF wanted me to check in on the hard cider.  The bottle caps are holding up and the cider was ready to drink on April 1st (no joke).
In fact, I am making another batch so when LF comes back there will be some fresh cider for him.

Bear in charge of blog signing off for now.
