I've been sent away!!!!!

 Hiya World.
LF here.  My humans have sent me away (to visit Sandy in Canada) that is....

All the humans gave me was a package of cashews......I am going to have to tell the humans to send me on a nicer airline than what they have chosen.  I hope I arrive up North soon..

Sandy waits at the airport.

Sandy and LF here.  It's time for Sandy to start heading back home.
I'm at the airport waiting for my flight.
Ah, here it is.  Canadian Goose Airlines flight number 820.
CGA flight 820 is the midwest route.  Where am I going to next?

Sandy Says Goodbye.

Sandy here.  It's time for me to start packing up and get ready for my next adventure.  The Oregon stuffies have been so helpful and outgoing that I wanted to take some time and make them a healthy dinner.

My dinner starts off with quinoa.  According to the packaging quinoa is a super food.
You can't go wrong with  corn on the cob.
LF mentioned that the easiest way to cook corn on the cob is on a fire, but we don't have a firepit like I do in Canada so we'll use the bbq.
Grillmaster Sandy watching the corn.
The corn is ready.  I hope LF and gang doesn't mind if I use rotisserie chicken instead of farm fresh chicken.  This bear is an expert on cooking brats, eating salmon and enjoying a good beer but cooking chicken isn't in my skillset.....yet that is.
LF is impressed with my knife skills.
Time for Sandy's secret chicken sauce: Salsa,  chipolte pepper paste, lime juice, salt, pepper, and cumin.
Cilantro.  Some people love it.  Some people can't stand the taste. This bear loves it, especially since it's mixed on top of the quinoa.
The gang is assembled and we have said all of our goodbyes.  You'll notice Big Bear is wearing his Hawaiian lei.  Big Bear always puts his lei on in the summer in honor of the teachers who worked hard all school year.
Enough chit chat.  Let's eat!
Sandy signing off.  Time to do the dishes, pack up and catch my flight.

Cooking for a special guest.

There will be a special guest arriving soon at our house.  Once Canadian Geese Airlines flight 2343 arrives safely our special guest will be here.  Now, as anyone knows who flies Canadian Geese Airlines it's a low budget carrier where one needs to bring their own snacks and flights that should only take hours take weeks.  Just how it is when you fly CGA so I figured I better make some snacks for our guest since he might be hungry.

I hope  my guest likes "homemade" brownies. I have a big bowl, a nice box of mix from Trader Joe's and a preheated oven.  Let's go!
Any good brownie recipe starts with a stick of butter.  Since I want to impress my guest I am using first quality butter, I hope that is acceptable to him.
I got the batter mixed and put in the pan evenly.  Time to find a roommate so they can put it in the oven and get this cooking.
Ahhh, now the hardest part. I must wait till the brownies cool so I can test them to make sure they are acceptable for my guest. I hope that he is hungry from his flight?

Canadian Rockies....here we come!!!!!!!

It’s Summer, Yipee.  We are off on a trip to the Canadian Rockies.  No we aren’t going to visit Sandy….sadly he lives too far out of our way.  Day 1: We (i.e. my roommates) packed up the car and started driving.  Who would have guessed it rained on the first two days, but it did luckily Monkey and I have an adventourous spirit.
If you have never been to Canada before it's worth visiting, right Sandy?  It's a big country and the provinces are beary big.  Still driving (day two).  I kept my eyes open for the Canadian Geese that land near our house in November but I haven't seen any of them...I wonder where they are?
We made it!  This is Jasper, Alberta.  Jerry and Ben there are trains traveling through all the time....you two would love it here.  Here I am in front of the school in Jasper, I was hoping the Canadian flag would be easier to see.  Where is Monkey you say?  He's taking the picture of course...my roommates went off to look at souveniers.
I hope my roommates are getting me some Maple syrup (to share of course).  This picture is what I was hoping for in regard to the flag.  Canada has a beary pretty flag, it has a big Maple Leaf on it.

Since we have been driving and exploring Jasper, I think it’s time to get an accommodation for the night.  Monkey and I prefer first class.  I am starting to worry, whenever I ask my roommates what Fairmont Hotel (beary nice and expensive places to stay in Canada, eh) they always change the subject to the weather or what Ben might be cooking at the moment.

Oh uh, this doesn’t look good.  I think this is our accommodation for the night.  I had a frank discussion with my roommates and they said this was going to be our accommodations for the entire trip (7 days).  I hope it’s waterproof I muttered under my breath…..
Day two: Time for Breakfast and a hike.  My roommates wanted to try this Canadian Food, Tim Hortons.  We don't have it in my part of the USA.  Monkey and I split a strawberry muffin for breakfast....almonst makes up for the tent last night....almo

A quiet day....

It was a rainy day today...not much for a little fox to do except stare out the window and wait for my next adventure.  I did hear some Canadian Geese and watched a few airplanes fly by but nothing really exciting happening.  Of course when it rains at home that means it usually snows at the mountain, maybe we can go snowshoeing this weekend?

It is hard to get a picture of just me looking out the window without my roommate in the background.  I think my roommate needs a new camera.

Then the mail came.  It seems that all we get is tax forms but wait....I recognize those two bears and the handwriting....could it be, yes it is.  A letter from Jerry and Ben!

This card apologizes for the belated birthday.  It's ok guys, my true birthday is a little sketchy and it's sometime around mid-January. I love all of the reasons for being the card being a little late...beary creative.
Look closely, I think I see Jerry or Ben waving from that mailbox.

Besides the great card from Jerry and Ben my birthday gift to myself (this calendar with a handsome fox on it) came in the mail recently as well.  Overall much better mail than the tax forms my roommates have been getting.
