Dinner for a friend

The weather is kind of rainy this weekend and my roommates have hinted that we are not going hiking. I haven't been hiking for almost a month....ugh the things a Little Fox has to put up with.  My roommates said I could invite a friend over. Since Little Bear was at Starbucks, I called Reindeer over.
We chatted about food and I found out he is a vegetarian. My roommates offered to cook us dinner. Yipee.
I checked out our magazines. Hmmm, I am am more of a carnivore, what do you feed a vegetarian?
Something French?  Yes, a French strata, that will do the trick.
Since I am in a French mood, how about French Onion soup as well?  Hmm, how do I convince my roommates to cut all those onions for the soup.  I know, I will guilt them into it.  I should remind them that I haven't been adventuring or hiking for a while.  That should do it.

Dinner time. The strata and soup and looks great.
Reindeer says it's best to have soup first.
The French know to cook (now I know why Ben likes everything French, the food is sooooo good). A good dinner indeed. Maybe we can go hiking next weekend?

  1. Oh, I know... this weather is interfering with my hiking schedule too. We are having snow again! Sigh... It is a day for hot chocolate. Your soup looks amazing! You did a good job of catering to Reindeer's vegetarian tastes.

  2. Snow again:? It's March, I can't imagine snow in this month. I am already thinking about my vegetable garden not snow.

Reindeer seemed to like his dinner (how can you go wrong with soup that involves a piece of cheese bread on top of it?). All of my friends seem to be picky eaters. Little Bear only wants food from Starbucks, Reindeer is a vegetarian. It is hard for me to understand, I am an omnivore, I eat anything!

  3. I know, I know... it is beary unusual weather. We still have a tonne of snow on the ground from last weekend. We're hoping this is the last of it...

Hmm... only food from Starbucks? Me thinks little bear might get a little bigger... unless he's just eating the yogurt or something! I am a carnivore (rah!) but my humans seem to be vegetarians, which is beary annoying. Every once in a while a few prawns find their way into the house and the humans can't figure out why they disappear so quickly (***burp***... excuse me...).

    1. Snowing in March? Wow, do you have enough hot chocolate stockpiled for you, Uncle Tibbs and Ooogie?

    2. We also get snow in March...and sometimes in April. Such late snowfalls make some little bears and stuffies very grumpy (we won't say who, we'll only say that they are the little bears who like to garden).

  6. Does Reindeer know Santa? Did he miss the sleigh back to the North Pole or is he just visiting?

    1. Reindeer is retired from Santa's workshop and decided to head south for a milder climate. He has some wild stories about working at the North Pole, he says it gets wild around Christmas time.
