Happy Memorial Day

 Hiya Gang,

Little Fox and Grinnel here.  We just wanted to wish all of our blog pals a happy Memorial Day and a special thank you to all of the service people who have passed away fighting in wars.

In case you missed that day in history class Memorial Day is a day in which the US remembers all of those who have died fighting in US wars.  Many other countries have Memorial Days, often at different times of the year but all very important days.

In honor of Memorial Day I decided to do some hiking with my pal Sequoia.  First up is a California Poppy.

Balsam Root and Lupine.  What a day!
Finally, Sequoia, Balsam Root and the Columbia River.

An extremely important project part 3....more waiting.

 Hello Blog World,
My Spring project is moving along nicely.  The sunflower seeds my pal Little Bear and I planted in honor of the people of Ukraine is slowly progressing.

As you can see  the seeds are turning into little plants.   The name of this game is patience....

An extremely important Spring project part 2 (the waiting game)

 Hello Blog World.

My sunflower seeds are planted in strategic locations around the yard. First, I had to weed out this pot but I read online that sunflowers can grow in a 5 gallon pot or larger. I am not sure if the variety I have will do that but it's worth a shot.

Next up.  Planting in some good old fashioned dirt.
The final location should get the most sun but not so sure about the soil.  Yep, planting them in the grass.
Paws crossed on this one.
Stay tuned throughout the summer as this important project continues to evolve.

Hiya Blog World, Little Fox here.  Today, I am exploring the  State Capitol.  They gardening staff at the capital does an amazing job year round.  A few early tulips (daffodils are long gone).

As you can see if the grounds of the capitol or well protected.which car do you think is cooler? The blue  or the gray one?  I wish they had a fox orange cruiser?
My next stop on the capital campus is the sculpture garden.  The first sculpture here is of our state animal, the beaver. You'll notice that each of these beavers has a nice stick to enjoy.
Up next we have the sculpture a"Animals on parade". This is a personal favorite of mine.
These gators look so happy (and who can blame them?).

Sequoia wanted to be part of the animal parade as well.

Time to leave the capital grounds and explore town.
I came across this interesting statue at the local park.  The carousel was packed today (actually, this picture was taken the day before Easter....one might say the carousel was hopping that day...).
Finally, as my exploration ended I came across this building.  Some say it's Art Deco others not.  It's the Capital Tower office building built in 1927.
Whatever style of architecture it is I'm beary impressed by this building.  Whew, this fox is tired, time to find some lunch.

An extremely important Spring project part 1

My crew and I got a few seeds and wanted to plant this Sunflower in honor of the Ukrainian people.
Now, we just need a dry day to get outside and get these seeds planted.
