Little Fox, Building Supervisor.

Hello Blog Pals,

The Oregon weather forecasters sure called it wrong this weekend.  We were supposed to have 4 inches of rain, it hasn't happened yet (and it's Sunday at 3:20pm).  Being that it was supposed to rain we didn't do any adventuring this weekend.  As a result I finally convinced my roommates to finish a bookcase project they started many days ago (106 to be exact).  To be fair to me, I didn't start supervising this project till today (of course had I started supervising it on the first day it would not have taken 106 days to complete).

The bookcase frames are all built (do you see Sequoia's toys lying around????).  This is the biggest bookcase of them all.  I hope it holds all of my pictures and notes on my adventures.  There are smaller bookcases as well.  Hmm, this bookcase is a little wobbly.....what to do?

To make sure all of the bookcases don't wobble too much I decided suggest putting backboard on the book cases.  This is actually wood paneling and it works pretty well for this purpose.  Who knew they still sold wood paneling at the home depot?

Now, I have about 6 feet of oak wood paneling left, I wonder what I should do with it?  Suggestions?

  1. Backboard is beary important - you are a good supervisor!! I think between the two of us, we could start our own construction/maintenance company! "Fox & Bear Homes Ltd.". Home Depot sells all sorts of things I've discovered... you just have to know where to look. In some weird twist of fate, Mama is usually one of those people who hates to ask for directions... she prefers to wander up and down the aisles looking for whatever it is. She says she finds neat things that way. Uh-huh....

    1. What a great idea. Of course it would be hard to keep a schedule because of random distractions like hiking, travel, berry picking, adventuring, travel (did I say that already), cooking demonstrations from Ben, and gardening.

Home depot is beary exciting, my roommate often roams around and often finds random things for teh house. Our latest find was a door stop that screws into the molding so the door doesn't bang into the wall .

  2. You're doing a great job Little Fox...are you available for hire? There are a few projects at our house, for a while now, that need to be done. "Yeah" adds Jerry "they've been sitting here since the Middle Ages!" We obviously need to get them done.

    1. We always have projects to work on, they never end. In fact as I am enjoying my coffee writing this post a light just went out. Time to get the ladder.

  3. How about a wooden leg on each corner for a new dinner table??

    1. Good idea. Maybe I will make it a craft table and mail it to you? Hmmm, on second thought the postage might be a tad expensive.
