In search of the perfect pumpkin for J and B's content

Oh hello there.
Little Fox at the helm of the blog today.  I am on a quest to find a good Jack-O-Lantern picture for Jerry and Ben's Halloween Contest.   No, I am not going as a goat.  Although I did see this cute animal on my adventure.
Today, my goal is to find a Jack-O-Lantern picture to enter into the contest.  Any good quest starts with lunch.  Yum, chips.
Oh my goodness.  A whole sub sandwich for me?  Chicken Parmesean?  Are you serious?  Is this my birthday?  Who knows for sure, BUT I am a VERY lucky fox today.
I can't wait to dig into this.
Now that I have had a proper lunch it's time to explore stop #1. I saw this pumpkin and it's kind of intersting but not really what I am looking for.
Now, why am I not carving a pumpkin this year?  Well, my carving team (aka roommates) are short on time this year and afraid I won't make the deadline.  So, Little Fox is going to find a Jack-O-Lantern to adopt so I can take a picture.
My, I hope this doesn't disqualify me....

Not to sway any judges but the next stop had lots of local honey.  Judge Jerry, are you paying attention?
The next stop was an ice cream shop and bakery and they had a Jack-O-Lantern to boot.  I like him but he's not my favorite yet.
Judge Jerry.....this place has lots of homemade pies.   Any suggestions on which one to send your way?
Okay, enough blatant bribing of Judge Jerry.  The next stop had a little Jack-O-Lantern.  Not too bad.  It's a good size for a little fox.
Same Jack-O-Lantern but a different view.  Better but I am not 100% sure it's the one for the contest.
This is a nice harvest scene.  Pumpkins, my Jack-O-Lantern, and an old box.  I think this picture will do.
Time to celebrate.  A mission accomplished.  I think I will have some cider.
Wait!   This cider sampler is missing one.  I need to have a strict conversation with my roommates about the missing cider.

Jerry and Ben, thank you for hosting the contest.  I can't wait to see the results.

Spring is here and there is a bear in charge!

Uh, hello bloggers.  My name is Bear and I am filling in for Little Fox as he is off on a journey up North to Canada then to London courtesy of the famed adventurer Alexander McKenzie Bear.

As I mentioned my name is Bear and I was put in charge of the blog by my friend Little Fox.  I have a series of blogs I was am supposed to write and a requirement to go on many adventures with his roommates.  I think I can handle that.

So as you gathered from my post spring is here. Let's take a quick tour.
Looks like the tulip's LF's roomies planted in fall are taking shape.  I wonder what color they will be?

The winter garden did well. A couple types of lettuce, arugula, some small onions and cilantro.  Almost time to replant.
Onions did well too.

The grass is really green.

The fruit trees have lots of buds on them.  There is one cherry and two plum trees.  I heard there is a bear who is a chef in Minnesota who might have some ideas for plums.

Final stop is the garage.  LF wanted me to check in on the hard cider.  The bottle caps are holding up and the cider was ready to drink on April 1st (no joke).
In fact, I am making another batch so when LF comes back there will be some fresh cider for him.

Bear in charge of blog signing off for now.

A pre Easter Trip

My roommates wanted to get out of town for the day and guess who got to come along? Me! Maybe we can find some of those California Poppies I have been looking for, it's been a week since I went last looking.
We headed toward Hood River to see the blooming trees. I think they are pear trees blooming
but I am not sure.

This is strange looking honey, why is it white? Does it taste like regular honey? It's a beary big
jar....bear size. I wonder if I can get some shipped to my bear friends to have them taste test it to see if it tastes as good as the honey they are used too?  This store also had Huckleberry Jam (my favorite berry), I wonder if a group of certain humans will buy it for a certain fox?

More blooming trees. I think I look fetching in this orchard. When does the fruit come in? I
should see if my roommates will buy me a huckleberry pie????

No poppies out today, rats!  Maybe my roommates will appease me and stop here for a quick refreshment before the long drive home.......I have this crazy feeling that this is going to be a great place to stop.......
