An embearassing late mail call...I mean really late

Hiya Gang,
Baxter here. I hate to say this but I haven't opened any mail since August.  I figured if I told you Little Fox while Cocoa and Navy were present you would not be too mad at me.

Umm Baxter, it's okay.  Your cool, let's get this mail processed though.

Navy Beanie here.  I'm displaying a cool Halloween card from Jerry and Ben.  Little Fox is already testing recipes for next years contest.  Maybe a pumpkin ice cream?  Thanks J and B for the starbucks card as well.

Some of the Christmas stuffies were very impressed with Jerry and Ben's trip to Portugal. Lisbon looks pretty darn impressive.
Speaking of international travel Ajdin and crew took a trip to Roma.  I hope they got lots of pizza, pasta and wine.
Ajdin just doesn't stop traveling, he also made it to Hawaii.  Volcanoes National Park is up there on this foxes list. I also need to hire Ajdin's travel agent.

Big Bear, Drunk Fox and Baxter wanted to get in on the action.  Sandy and Crew sent some cards.  A couple of cool cards.  Some written at home, some at a starbucks and some with very clear hints for this fox to take amtrak to Vancouver BC (great idea, too bad the humans aren't good at taking hints).....don't get this fox started....

My buddy Drunk Fox volunteered to hold up Sandy's Halloween card and I took the smaller card from the Canadian Rockies.  As you might recall Sandy took the train to Jasper and brought the mice back home.  They promptly got on Canadian Goose Airways to travel with me back home.

A lot of mail to process for sure, however it's certainly appreciated (THanks blog pals).

A special meal for the mice

I think we need to make our mice a nice dinner.
"Cheese sandwich" Little Bear said.
"No, how about cheese sandwich and cheddar broccoli soup?" Baxter mentioned.
"Nope, too cliche, Cocoa and Navy would probably like something non-cheese related.  How about something from the Northwest?"
All three mentioned]SALMON at the same time.
First up, I need to make sure there are no food allergies.
Navy, Cocoa can you both have stuffed salmon?
Yes, they said as they were drooling....perhaps a cheese course two?
Navy and Cocoa wanted to get in on the action so they could take this recipe back home to Sandy and his crew.  Pro tip, call the gang at Northern Seafood in Tacoma and have them ship it off to you.
The fish is done LIttle Bear says but you all must wait till it cools.

Allright, can we eat now?
Editors note:  You might have noticed two stuffed salmons and one picture of Navy and Cocoa.  Don't worry readers Navy and Cocoa each got their own plates but the camera could not get both in the same shot.

Mail from a bear and a mouse

 Hiya Gang,

Little Fox here.  I'm enjoying a nice beverage from one of my favorite tumblers.  Do you see that little fox (no, not me) on the tumbler?

My pals Cocoa Beanie and Sandy sent a pawesome card recently. I was a little skeptical that it was really from Sandy being that his signature Canadian Mountie stamp wasn't attached but the plethora of stickers seems like something Sandy would do.

What an awesome card.  It's like looking in a mirror, am I right?

Sandy and Cocoa Beanie mentioned that Rose was in town for Spring Break and they did some geocaching.  Knowing Sandy and crew I bet they took Rose on a ton of fun adventures, maybe a trip that place with the goats on the roof?

Delayed Mail.....

 Hiya Gang,

Little and Drunk Fox here.  Just catching up on some mail.

First up is a birthday card from Sandy and Cocoa.  They wished me a happy birthday (my birthday is in January so yep this post is really late).

Thanks for the card Sandy and Cocoa.  As to your question about my age, well I'm not really sure (no records were kept as a kit)  and my only relative is Drunk Fox and he is not the most reliable uncle when it comes to things like this.

Jerry and Ben also sent a nice email message wishing me a happy birthday with a big adventure and a grand dessert to enjoy.  Thanks J and B.

J & B have been busy bears with their mail and my crew also received a cool valentine's day card.

Droopy and Crew sent this great valentine card.

Apparently, according to the card, they fetched it just for me.  That's awesome!    Thanks!

Off to the Jetty.

Hello Blog World. Little Fox here hanging out at the beach.

It's a nice 80 degrees back home so it should be a nice 65 degrees at the beach.  Note...it's not, it's cold and windy at the beach but the cold and wind doesn't stop this adventurer.
Off in the distnace is Twin Rocks. I wonder why they are called Twin Rocks?
What's this building in the distance?  It looks like a lifeguard tower but this is the Northern Pacific and it's not really a swimming type of ocean up here.  Way too cold.
Perhaps if I can get a little closer to see what this tower is for.....well I never found out.  Sigh.

I did see this sign. Did you know that the word Tillamook (they have a cheese factory there and free samples....beanie, cocoa?????)

Anyway, Tillamook is a term in the Native American Coast Salish Tribes language meaning lands of many waters.

Sure, the Pacific is here, the Kilchis River, and the Trask River is nearby but it rains ALOT here as well. I wonder if the Coast Salish were referring to the rivers, oceans or the rain?????

Okay, I have made it to the end.  Hanging out at the jetty. The Jetty is comprised of 37,000 tons of stone to resist the fierce force of ocean waves and extends about 5000 feet into the ocean.  Apparently explorer Robert Gray landed in Tillamook bay area (which includes 5 bays in the area). This Jetty provides access to one that is used by the fishing industry in the area (salmon, oysters, and crabs).
Enough chit chat....time to head back for a windy lunch.

(Editors Note: The Coast Salish lived up North in Washington, and BC but there was a small tribe living in Tillamook as well).  Who knew? (Besides the Coast Salish people).
