Stuffie Holiday Celebration 2021

Happy Holidays Blog World.  Welcome to Stuffie Holiday Celebration 2021 (SHC2021).  It's me, Little Fox, and my dapper pal Bear teaching you about SHC2021.

First, to clear any confusion SHC2021 is not celebrated in December like other holidays, instead SHC2021 is celebrated in January after human holiday celebrations.  Why celebrate in January?  Trust me, it's complicated (however it has something to do with all the Christmas food, candy, and gifts  being on deep discount after human Christmas).

Stuffie Holiday Celebration always involves a check in with Santa Bear.  Don't worry, we're on the good list.
Besides checking in with Santa Stuffie Holiday Celebration is all about safety.  As you can see we have a nutcracker firefighter positioned next to the tree.
SHC2021 is always about hanging out with your pals. You see we have another nutcracker, bear, and a reindeer with a scarf.  We are just catching up and seeing what each other has been doing this year.
Squirrel and Mr. Mouse are back from their recent vacation to Jamaica.  The Christmas Stuffies have a condo in Jamaica where they spend the off season.
.
Lot's of elaborate food forStuffie Holiday Celebration.  Baked brie filled phyllo cups.  A delicious and easy recipe to make.
Bear is very intrigued by this recipe as it has honey in it.
Stuffies can't live in baked brie along (sigh)  so we decided to get some devil eggs.

Devil eggs, another recipe that was a piece of cake to make.

Of course one of the traditions of Stuffie Holiday Celebration is to support local businesses and give back to education.
Mr. Mouse took care of that.   Let's see, Tillamook Hot Habanero Jack Cheese counts as the local product.  Check.

Beaver Classic Cheese.  Beaver Classic Cheese is made by the food and science technology students at Oregon State University (GOBEAVS).
The milk comes from cows raised by the colleges agriculture program and cheese (along with other food products...honey, meat) are created and produced by food science students.  Products are sold online, at farmers markets, and at football games.  Go Beavs.

No Stuffie Holiday Celebration would be complete without a little homemade bread.  Wolfy has that taken care of that.

Every year Stuffie Holiday Celebration has a comedy show and this year is no different.  Kermit is performing his comedy routine "Kermit at the Christmas Tree".

Another great Stuffie Holiday Celebration in the books.  Hopefully 2022 brings you lots of safe adventures and fun experiences.
Your pal, Little Fox.

An afternoon out....

Hello Blogger Pals, It is I, Little Fox.  No, I am not on vacation in the Midwest although this picture reminds me of what a Midwest winter might be and I think I will take a "pass" on it.  My roommates told me to get my spare change and pack a lunch because we are going to the Casino.  If the Casino has a buffet, why do I need to pack a lunch?  Humans make no sense to me.
There is still some snow on the grounds of the Casino. I am not sure if you can see the waterfall in the background.  Maybe I will use this picture as my holiday card picture next year?

The casino had their decorations out in full force.
This bear was about 6 feet tall.  I wanted to hop onto his sleigh and open some of the gifts but my roommates discouraged that behavior since he was on a roped off platform. I don't know how tall Uncle Tibbs is but this bear was huge.

Now let's get down to business.  I have my change in a mason jar and I am ready to start playing the slots.  Let's see this one looks lucky.
This afternoon adventure was quite tiresome for me.  Casino's are built for walking around and little foxes don't have the stride length that humans do so I new I needed a break.  My roommates said they would get me a nice glass of wine to relax but upon further exploration this looks like water!
Santa Bear is going to hear about this.....trust me.

I'm Back

Hi Blog Pals,
Little Fox back at the helm of the blog.  I want to thank my dear friends Kermit, Drunk Fox, Little Bear, and Reindeer and his assistant Bear for keeping the blog going while I was on holiday (as they say in London) with Sandy.  Additionally, I want to wish everyone a happy Veteran's Day.  Thank you Veteran's.

While I was out I received quite a bit of mail. Let's see what I got.

Looks like Droopy took a trip to the red mill in New Jersey.  He also sent some items for me to explore on the next  episode of Little Fox, Archaeologist (in a future blog).  I have never been to New Jersey but it sure seems pretty - my only experience with New Jersey is from watching the Sopranos so I am happy to see it has lots of scenic places.

President elect Ajdin took a road trip to Chincoteague Island in Virginia.  He said there were lots of horses (and mosquitoes) on his trip to Chincoteague Island.  I wonder if it was a campaign road trip?

I got another card from my friend in Seattle.  She took a trip to Montana a few weeks ago.  Looks like there was lots of sunshine on that trip and no snow.  Montana sure is diverse, note to self to I need to plan a trip to Montana asap.

Jerry and Ben took a trip to Jacksonville. Sounds like a relaxing trip involving sitting by the pool and drinking honey ice tea.  Probably a nice break from the Fall weather in the Midwest.

Here is a card I sent to my roommates and the other animals from London.  We had great company with Beanie, Jelly Mouse, and Otto, wonderful weather, great pub food and a great time. I am ready for my next tour Ajdin and Sandy!

Happy Memorial Day!

I was lucky to celebrate this Memorial Day with a surprise road trip provided by my roommates and Sequoia.

At our lodging I had the chance to meet a local.  This bear was beary intent of telling me all of the good places to hike.  Interestingly most of the places to go hiking involved being around water (I guess that’s what happens when you take advice from a bear in fishing gear).
Our first stop was at Newberry Crater.  6,200 years ago this mountain decided to erupt and a sea of lava spilled out.

Lava everywhere.
It was pretty interesting walking around.  There were some potential for great views but the sky was a little cloudy and covering all of the mountains.
Apparently, it’s difficult for plants to grow in lava something to do with the soil (or lack of soil) I fathom.  There were a couple of sparse plants in the lava flow area and a few are even blooming.
After exploring the lava flow we decided to take a short hike before lunch.  The Deschutes River flows right through town and there are some good hiking trails.  The sun started to come out and with the sun so did the people.

When is lunch?

Little Fox, Archeologist?

Lately I fancy myself as an amateur archeologist.  I haven’t found anything but I hope to find something soon (and maybe get a cool Indiana Jones style hat to wear).  What better place to find archeological remains than the beach.  We’re off.
I started digging in random spots at the beach hoping to find a cool artifact.  Sequoia was along and he was beary helpful as well with his digging skills.  He isn’t as careful as I am but with some coaching from me he can learn.

Nothing yet, perhaps if someone could move this log I could find an ancient Indian arrowhead or spear or something cool under this log.

This hole must have something in it, I bet someone has already come along and found the artifacts.

Hmmm, this looks like an interesting site, let’s explore.

So, this is the salt works.  The National Park is doing some renovations on the site but you can still see inside.  Apparently, Lewis and Clark ran out of Salt for curing meat when they made it to the Pacific.  Lucky for them the ocean is filled with salt so a couple of crew members boiled the ocean water, collected the salt, and cured a whole bunch of meat for their trip home.

Lewis and Clark are beary important to this town, so important they erected this large statue.  I think I look very dashing next to it.

Well, my archeological hunt wasn’t as successful as I hoped.  My roommates noticing that I was bummed out (no artifacts, no Indiana Jones hat) that we decided to go for a walk.  Our goal was the shave ice stand (and we made it there).  Along the way I saw this weird display.  There was a bear in a dog kennel.  What’s up with that.  I think this bear would be perfect for a certain bear scout I know to save.  I was appalled but my roommates did some research and found out that he was a beary old bear and wasn’t in trouble or some sort of jail just that he was waiting for his new family.   I hope he finds a good family soon (and that he starts blogging).

New friend and new modes of transportation?

I met a new bear today. He is a big bear.  I asked him what his name was and he just stared at me blankly. I guess I will call him big bear.
I was getting restless sitting around the house. I invited big bear to go adventuring with me but he just wanted to hang out on the couch. I decided to do some exploring today with my roommates.  Is that a ferry I see?  Maybe I can convince my roommates to take me for a ride on the boat.
No luck, the ferry was unborarding, not loading.
Maybe I can catch a ride on the train. It's either heading North to Canada (maybe I can catch the train and visit Sandy) or to points East (that way I can visit Jerry, Ben and Ajdin).

Drat, the train did not stop for me (even after I waved politely).   I guess my method of transportation today will only involve my roommates carrying me around.
